Routine Kitchen and Living Room Clean in Chicago (60631)

This recent standard clean was in a furnished home on Chicago's far Northwest Side, 60631. The home is lived in every day, so this was a routine upkeep visit. We cleaned the open kitchen with its cherry cabinets and granite counters. We also dusted and vacuumed the living room by the fireplace. The aim was clean surfaces without moving the owner's things around.

Granite Counters and Cherry Cabinets

The kitchen has cherry cabinets, a gas range and a long granite peninsula. We wiped the granite around small appliances and everyday items. The stove top, knobs and oven door handle were cleaned. Cabinet fronts got a wipe near the handles, where hands touch most. We polished the steel fridge doors and the microwave front. The wood floor and runner rug were swept and vacuumed.

Living Room by the Fireplace

The living room has a sectional sofa, a coffee table and exposed brick. We dusted the shelves, the side tables and the TV stand. The marble fireplace surround and its ledge were wiped down. Sofa cushions were vacuumed and the throw pillows were set back in place. We vacuumed the large area rug from edge to edge. The wood floor around it was swept and damp mopped.

Red Wood Floors and Touch Points

Floors in this home are a deep red hardwood that shows dust fast. We swept under the edges of furniture and along the baseboards. Then we damp mopped with a light touch to protect the finish. Light switches, door handles and cabinet pulls were wiped. The spot by the pet bowls near the fireplace got extra care. The rooms were left neat for daily life.
